For my birthday, I took a weekend trip to Los Angeles and I had a blast! I toured the Reformation factory, got a tattoo, and did lots of shopping of course. This was my favorite outfit from the trip, and I wore it to go shopping around Melrose. The dress and tunic are from Urban Outfitters (sadly, they're sold out!). I thought they just paired together so perfectly. I love how the tunic has a dainty tie in the front so the dress can peek out, and I love the color of the dress. When I paired them together I got prairie vibes, so I wore my ol' reliable straw hat. I thought the neutral yellow-tan color of the hat made the blue in the dress pop. I wanted to be comfortable walking around all day, so I thought, sneakers of course! Not my go-to dad sneakers shockingly, but a crisp, classic pair of Vans Old Skool's. What's more Cali than that? It was such a nice and much-needed getaway, and I love my new little tattoo. Scroll to the bottom of this post for some vacation pics too!

Here's some pics from the trip:

So. Much. FABRIC!

I had a lovely weekend trip to Temecula, CA doing a wine tour. It was a little hot, nonetheless it was beautiful and a ton of fun. We went to four different wineries, got to sample over 20 wines, and rode the bus around laughing and singing! My outfit for the tour was inspired by wine country; think modern prairie girl. The star of my look was this amazing tunic from Urban Outfitters. It's so light and breezy, and definitely a statement piece. Under the tunic, I thought these denim bermuda cutoffs would go well. Bermuda shorts are also trending for the Summer. To balance the proportions of the tunic, I wore my favorite straw boater hat and my Jadon platform Dr. Martens. A wide-brim hat and chunky boots balance out the wide tunic perfectly, not to mention the hat kept the hot Cali sun off of me! Finally, I carried my necessities around in my go-to Spring/Summer accessory: my beaded bag. It's vintage and so cute, but here's a great option so you can rock one too. Prairie inspired fashion has been a huge trend this year. Are you on board? Let me know in the comments!

This fun, 80's inspired summer look started with, you guessed it, this banana button down. This one is from Forever 21, but from a couple seasons ago. Here's a similar one, and you can crop it like mine! I paired it with one of my favorite trends, bike shorts, to give a sporty edge. What better shoes for that vibe than chunky sneakers? My Fila Disruptors did the trick. I love these sneakers, they make any outfit so much cooler. As for accessories, I mixed metals with my silver aviator glasses and gold hoop earrings. Then I topped it all off with everyone's favorite polarizing item, a belt bag aka fanny pack! Mine is vintage, but here's a really cute Adidas one.
